Fred installed correctly.The app shows the time was synced successfully with the GPS receiver however the WSJT-X Band activity DT column shows that the the times are well off the mark in the range of between .5 an 1.0 with the internet disconnected. Of coarse with the internet connected the DT are very acceptable 0.0 to .3 Ive included some screen shots to help identify the issue. Let's address your concerns: Regarding Port 7009 and Firewall: You're right to consider firewall settings, but in this specific case, port 7009 is unlikely to be the cause of your problem. This port is reserved for BktTimeSync's client/server mode. This mode is used when you want one PC (running BktTimeSync as a server) to synchronize the time of other client PCs on your local area network (LAN) via a wired connection, typically when those client PCs don't have their own GPS receivers or internet access. If you are not using BktTimeSync to synchronize other computers on your LAN, you should set this option to "NONE" or ensure it's disabled. It has no bearing on BktTimeSync's ability to synchronize your PC's time directly using a GPS receiver or internet connection. Regarding the Time Discrepancy with GPS (Internet Disconnected): Your observation that the DT (Delta Time) is between 0.5 and 1.0 seconds off when relying solely on the GPS receiver (and excellent when connected to the internet) is a common scenario. The issue of not achieving perfect time synchronization with a GPS receiver when the internet is disconnected is often related to the GPS hardware itself or the inherent delays in the system processing the GPS signal. Consumer-grade GPS receivers might have slight latencies or inaccuracies in their 1 Pulse Per Second (1 PPS) signal, or there might be software/hardware delays within your PC from the moment the GPS signal is received to when BktTimeSync registers it. To resolve this, you need to use the Offset parameter in BktTimeSync's GPS configuration. Navigate to the GPS settings. Look for an Offset parameter. This parameter allows you to add a small positive or negative value to the time provided by your GPS receiver to compensate for these delays. You will need to experiment with this value. Start with small adjustments (e.g., -0.05, +0.05, -0.1, +0.1). Make an adjustment, then monitor the DT in WSJT-X with the internet disconnected. Repeat until you achieve a consistent DT value as close to 0.0 as possible (e.g., 0.0 to 0.2). By adjusting the Offset in the GPS configuration, you can fine-tune the time BktTimeSync reports, compensating for any hardware or system latencies specific to your setup.
