GPS time offset
#1
How do I set the GPS time offset so it remains between sessions?

I can set +0.5  manually or in the GPS block and it syncs with WWV perfectly. However, if I  close the program then reopen minutes or days later,  the offset is usually displayed as +0.00 in the GPS block, 0 in the manual window and some .000xx to .00x in the results window at the bottom.

It is just a few keystrokes but annoying. Like 'engine start-stop' fearure in cars has to be manually switched off every start cycle annoying.

Hi Karl,
try setting the offset to +0.5, then press Sync Now and let it complete a full synchronization.
After that, close BktTimeSync using the Close button.
Let us know if this improves the result.

Found sequence similar to your message:
1. Tune short wave receiver to WWV or accurate time standard
2. Start program with offset in GPS block at 0.00, and manual at +0.5
3. Compare time standard to program time display
4. Add or subtract manual offset until program display aggrees with time standard.
Keep tally of offset with each increase/decrease to obtain overall offset. Sync each trial offset.
5. Final sync offset needs to be put in offset window once manual offset is closed.
6. Close program and restart it to see the time readout of program is in perfect sync with time standard.

That look right?
Thank you for such a quick response! Your excellent program sets the radio and computer clocks easily! Pure genius on your part! You take PayPal?

Why does +.5 work for the usb GPS receiver and +1.4 work for the QRPLabs 'Shack Clock' (QCU)? Why the difference?

I don’t know which decoding method QRPLabs uses, so unfortunately I’m not able to answer your question.
