Apple Parallels Desktop

Ciao, Mauro.

I am running 1.7.0 BktTimeSync and have started to have a problem with it (when having my computer awake from sleep).

1/27/16 22:32:49 --> Sync start P1
11/27/16 22:32:49 --> Sync NTP P1
11/27/16 22:32:49 --> 11/27/16 22:34:49Sync NTP OK, next to :
11/27/16 22:34:49 --> Sync start P1
11/27/16 22:34:49 --> Sync NTP P1
11/27/16 22:34:49 --> 11/27/16 22:36:49Sync NTP OK, next to :
11/27/16 22:36:49 --> Sync start P1
11/27/16 22:36:49 --> Sync NTP P1
11/28/16 00:23:37 --> Failed to retreive time from NTP server 132.163.4.102 on port 123, GetLastError returned 10060Sync NTP ERROR :

11/28/16 04:00:47 --> Sync NTP P1
11/28/16 04:00:48 --> 11/28/16 04:02:49Sync NTP OK, next to :

I understand from http://www.maniaradio.it/forum/viewtopi ... 4&start=10 that Error Code 10060 is a timeout error.

My problem is 100% repeatable, and occurs after waking my computer from sleep.

If I press the "Sync Now" button, BktTimeSync will detect and display the correct time, but if I do not, then the program will continue with the wrong time.

Strangely, if I wake the computer from sleep, and press "Sync Now" before the problem occurs, then BktTimeSync will go into the error state in a few minutes.

If I do not press "Sync Now" upon waking the computer, BktTimeSync will detect and display the correct time on the next cycle, but will go into the error state in a few minutes.

In other words, I have to wait until the error occurs to press "Sync Now".

My system is special, but it may give you some information about fixing the problem. I am running

Guest operating system - Win7/64 in emulation under Parallels Desktop 12
Host system - MacOS 10.12.1
Hardware - 2.6 GHz i7, 16 GB RAM

When I say 'sleep' above, I am referring to the MacOS (the host system) sleeping or waking. Win7/64 is open all the time.

My guess is that some memory variable is persisting in BktTimeSync, and causing the error upon reconnection. You would have far better knowledge.

I hope this helps you track down the problem in http://www.maniaradio.it/forum/viewtopi ... 4&start=10, and perhaps my problem.

Hi Parker,
I am not an expert on Parallels Desktop but I know that is having problems with Windows programs that work with lan/internet just because the sleep your mac.

Try to install BktTimeSync Version 1.8.0 and increases the timeout value.

No, BktTimeSync recovers from sleep on its first synchronization just fine. Within 2 minutes, which is my sync interval, BktTimeSync polls the timer server and is successful.

But after 20 minutes or so, BktTimeSync suddenly stalls and will not poll the time server any more. The time display is hours off, and I have the Maximum Correction set to 48 hrs.

The only fix is to open the Configuration Panel and manually press "Sync Now", after which BktTimeSync operates perfectly.

BktTimeSync 1.8.0,
Timeout: 30 secs.
